Full-Length Fly – If you already know me, then you know I like full-length rain flies, and as you can see in the product image below, it comes RIGHT DOWN to the ground. This typical style gives maximum protection against the rain and cold winds

D-Shape Door – Another perk this tent offers is the large “D” door. When you have 4 people camping in a tent and it’s a hot summer day, the large D-shaped door means you can leave it open to keep the air flowing, while it makes life so much easier for everyone camping in it, too

The Weight – The weight of this tent is 7.5 pounds, which caught me by surprise. Many 4-person tents in this weight range will be a lot more expensive, so this is definitely something I like about it

Your Stargazing View Is Limited – Even though it’s fully possible to remove the rain fly and sleep under the stars, there is a white (square) piece of fabric right in the center of the roof. This blocks your view of the night sky so you can’t exactly see the stars that easy

The Kelty Gunnison 4.3 tent is a little more expensive, however, it’s almost flawless if I must say so myself. It looks similar to the Kelty Salida, but it’s also likely to last longer since it’s higher quality. The only downside is the weight, which is 8.15 pounds, but there are much more features as well 🙂

If you’re interested in a tent that is MUCH cheaper, still gets the basics right and performs like a charm in the rain and wind, you can’t go wrong with the ALPS Mountaineering Meramac 4 Tent. It will not last as long and doesn’t have as much features, but for the price, it’s extremely worth it.

What I Really Think About The Kelty Salida 4 Tent

It’s not overly expensive, and it’s not too cheap either, so it’s in a great price bracket.

But the question is: what do I personally think about this tent and is it even worth the price?

Well, as you may or may not know, but manufacturers rarely tell the 100% truth about their products.

But the good news is that the Kelty Salida 4 Tent doesn’t come under that category.

After some thorough research into this specific tent and many hours later, I have come to the conclusion that it is definitely one of the best 4-person tents I have reviewed thus far.

Put the minor issues with the stakes and footprint aside, and you have a tent that has great weight, is very high quality and protects you from the elements with ease.

So without wasting any more time, I will have to say that the Kelty Salida 4 Tent is VERY worth the price, 100%, and highly recommended!
