This specific fill actually “shapes” to your body, ensuring you stay well insulated and comfortable all night long.

It’s just a matter of unzipping the end of the bag and putting your feet out, ensuring you don’t over-heat on those hot summer nights!
It’s not designed for extreme weather conditions (mountain camping), but gets the job done easily on both cold and warm nights.

It works well for big and tall folks since it has a roomy design.

This sleeping bag also contains “quilted construction”. This system stops cold spots from arising as you shift around in the night.
The anti-snag zippers pull the fabric AWAY from the zippers. You will never have a problem with them getting stuck.
And just like the Kelty Tuck 22 Degree Sleeping Bag, this one also contains the ventilated bottom. Just unzip where your feet is and let cold air out.

What makes this specific sleeping bag stand out from the crowd?
The simple fact that it performs really well for the price. You won’t have to pay an arm and a leg just to have fun in the great outdoors.
It compresses down to 15 x 8 x 8 inches and only weighs a measly 2.2 pounds. This makes the All Season XL Mummy Sleeping Bag a great choice for backpacking.
The manufacturers claim that it can work in ALL 4 seasons, taking into consideration that the conditions are dry and ideal.
The waterproof shell ensures you stay dry, in the event your tent springs a leak.
What’s more?
The fill is high loft and the liner is soft woven. This creates an extremely comfortable and warm sleeping environment.

Conclusion
So what is the best sleeping bag?
If you want to go car camping and you’re a bigger-than-average guy, the Coleman Big Basin will make a great choice – obviously since it’s too heavy for backpacking but provides everything a lighter bag offers.
But if you’re looking for a very lightweight sleeping bag that will actually get the job done when you’re counting on it the most as you go backpacking, you can’t go wrong with the TETON Sports LEEF Ultralight Mummy Sleeping Bag.
The Sports LEEF is EASILY my favorite sleeping bag in this list.
It’s 7.2 feet in length so it can fit tall people without a problem, it’s light enough for backpacking, affordable, and warm enough to keep you alive in extreme cold conditions!
Thanks for reading my article.
If you have any questions regarding these sleeping bags or even camping in general, I’ll be happy to answer all questions and concerns you may have.
Cheers!

Hi, Brandon! I found your site very useful! And thank you very much for this post! My choice definitely is 7. All Season XL Mummy Sleeping Bag. I love that it’s comfortable; it’s high value for money and has a lightweight! 🙂
I’m always looking for products that have high value for money. Sometimes you have to settle for what’s in front of you, however, if you’re willing to dig deep you can discover some amazing deals.
And that’s what I’ve done with this article – found the best sleeping bags and wrote them down.
Thanks for your input 🙂
Great article, I love the look of the Coleman Big Basin Extreme Weather bag as it’s got plenty of leg room to move around. Especially the ventilated bottom, that’s awesome. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Karen
No worries, Karen. Glad you found one you like 🙂
Hello Brandon,
This has always been an issue in my family. I remember sleeping bags were always too short for me since I wanted my shoulder covered. My husband lived in a sleeping bag for five summers when he was working on the Alaska Railroad. He lived in a tent or his vehicle when out working. He always got frustrated that sleeping bags were too short and he isn’t even super tall. He is only about 6 feet.
So this is just what we need. If I buy another sleeping bag I will start here!
Thanks!
There’s SO many tall campers facing that exact problem year after year. I’m just glad I can step in (as an avid camper and blogger) to help those in need. Your comment reassures me that my articles are helpful in many ways, so thanks a lot!
I’m 5’11 so does that make me “tall?” I’ve never gone camping a day in my life but reading the description of the “Big Basin” sleeping bag made me want to go out and use it on my bed since my blanket doesn’t have a draft tube and keep my feet extra warm during winter. I might go camping in the future so I will keep these recommendations you gave us in mind. Thanks for helping us stay comfy Brandon 🙂
Haha, good call Zahhub.
5’11 is classed as tall in the camping community. Not tall tall, but definitely tall enough, lol.
I like how compact most of these are, especially the ‘Tooge Backpacking Warm Light Sleeping Bag’. Whenever I go camping with my family we always have issues with sleeping bags being too small or not warm enough. I will consider these for my next trip. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for stopping by. These bags are much bigger than your traditional bags so I’m happy to say that you will not feel squished in any of them 🙂
Great article. I like an extra long bag because I cant stand to feel cramped and when I get cold I like to crawl into the bag lol. I haven’t been camping since I was little and when my children were small we took them camping all the time. Thanks for the great information.
I absolutely love taking my kids camping. It’s quality bonding time and that’s what we need more of in this world. Thanks for your comment 🙂
I am only five foot eleven but I prefer my sleeping bags to be extra large for plenty of room to move about when myself and my family go camping as I am such a restless sleeper. I really like the look of the TETON Sports LEEF Ultralight Mummy Sleeping Bag, does it come in any other colors?
It’s available in black and green, however, the green version is rated for +20 F, not 0 degrees F like the black version. Hope this helps 🙂
Thanks for helping find a sleeping bag for my brother. He’s a big guy 6’7” and xxl. He lost his leg last year and I’m trying to get him back out camping so now I’m restocking him with new gear but I can’t find a sleeping pad or air mattress for under his bag. Can you help?
You’re such a nice brother for doing this. I’m sure he will thank you so much for doing this.
I can certainly help you.
There is the 5CM THICK Sleeping Pad, which sleeps 6’6″ comfortably.
The Coleman ComfortSmart Deluxe Camping Cot has a 6.6 foot length, while the Self inflating Sleeping Pad has a length of 6.4 feet.
Please get back to me if you still need help 🙂
Thanks 4 the info
Anytime, Christina 😀
Howdy Brandon…
My son is training in the Navy to become a Nuke. It is said a lightweight sleeping bag is the way to go on a carrier, but it cannot be bulky as they have limited space. My son is 6’7″ and weighs 245. Big solid boy. When he crewed his bag was always too short for his size 15+ feet. Suggestions?
Caroline
Hi, I am looking for a light weight cold weather sleeping bag that is rectangle at the bottom, not a mummy bag. I get claustrophobia in mummy bags! But I don’t want a 10 lb sleeping bag, either. Does such a bag exist?
