What Is This Tent All About?
The Eureka Apex Solo Tent contains one door that is located on the side of the tent. The massive vestibule room is measured at a whopping 14.8 Sq. ft.
The vestibule room works great for storing gear, while the mesh door and roof maximizes ventilation to prevent condensation buildup.
This tent also includes shockcorded fiberglass poles and a factory seam-sealed rain fly and floor.
The manufacturers have claimed that this tent is easy to set up and take down, due to the simple, all-clip set up (freestanding design) that it offers.
They have also described the rain fly as being highly-resistant against the suns UV-rays, while it will not stretch in the rain either. The Eureka Apex also comes with two storage pockets, carry bags and stakes.
There are vectored external guy points to help keep the tent standing in strong winds as well. A free gear loft is also included in the purchase.

Is This Tent Unique?
What caught my eye the most was the amount of vestibule space that’s available for us to use (14.8 Sq. ft is HUGE for a vestibule area).
And because the door is much larger than normal tents and is located on the SIDE, it is easier to get in and out for the people that don’t like to crawl in feet-first.
Making The Tent Lighter
Many users are saying that you CAN make this tent lighter, just by replacing the factory stakes with aluminum ones (the stakes included are metal). To reduce the weight even more, replace the poles too. You will then have an ultralight, highly affordable tent!
Even though it’s a 3 season tent, many people have claimed that they have camped with it in the snow as well! A lot of them are also saying that it keeps condensation to a minimum (in the winter time), while their friends who were camping in 4-season tents had a LOT of condensation built up.
Who Should Buy This Tent?
Anyone that wants to go on an extended backpacking trip should definitely consider bringing this tent with them. Since the vestibule room is so big, it has a lot of storage space available for all the additional items that are needed for longer trips.
And if you you aren’t a big fan of backpacking, this does make a good choice for car camping too, especially if you are after a smaller tent that’s capable of keeping you bone dry when a rainstorm passes through the night.
You can only fit 1 person inside this tent, so remember that while you’re making your final decision. You may think that you’ll be fine when you eventually try and house 2 people, only to be let down when it’s an extremely tight squeeze.

Alternative/Similar Tent
If you want a 1-person tent that’s actually a lot lighter (without having to purchase additional stakes and poles), it is still in the same price range – however the vestibule area isn’t as big – then the ALPS Mountaineering Mystique 1.0 Tent might be a better choice for you.
Do I Recommend This Tent?
Personally, I would only use this tent for car camping or short backpacking trips.
Because it is a little heavier than other 1-person tents, I wouldn’t want to haul it through the wilderness for a very long time. However, I’m not much of a backpacker anyway, I’m more interested in car camping 🙂
Other than that, for the price you pay, you can’t go wrong with the Eureka Apex Solo Tent.
Because it will stay standing when the wind picks up and it will keep the rain out in a sudden downpour.
Even the ventilation works incredibly well. There’s no need to worry about condensation dripping on your head during the night.
A solo tent with this much quality, weatherproofing abilities and being so low in price is not easy to come across. I hands down recommend it.
My Final Opinion
Eureka make near-flawless tents, and this one is no different. For the price of it I don’t see why it should be overlooked.
There is almost no negative feedback or reviews that I could find for this tent. The benefits and the amount of camping trips you will get out of this tent completely outweigh the cons that I have outlined.
Because of all the reasons mentioned inside this review – and since the price is extremely affordable – I can easily give this tent a thumbs up.
It has great weatherproofing abilities and performs incredibly well in the field, I would have to say highly recommended!
