What is this tent all about and does it offer features much better than its competitors?
So many answers and so little time, so let’s figure out if this tent is worth the money and good enough to use on a camping trip.
This is my unbiased Coleman Prairie Breeze 9-Person Cabin Tent review, where I will be researching this tent and writing down everything I find regarding it.
Enjoy, fellow camper 🙂
Can't Go Wrong As A Summer Tent
Summary:
It’s not the best tent for combating strong winds. The vertical walls mean it catches wind very easily. However, it still makes a great summer tent due to the 6 large windows and fan system to keep you cool. There is a lighting system that illuminates the tent also. In addition to all of this, it does a great job at keeping the rain out.

Description
According to the official product description, this tent is extremely spacious, providing enough room to house a total of 9 people!
Not only that, but this tent is more of a luxury outdoor residence than your traditional 9-person tent, and that’s because it contains an LED lighting and reversible fan system so you stay at a comfortable temperature in all conditions.
LED Lighting System
Fan System (Hot and Cold)
Because of this, it feels more like a room in your house than a tent!
The setup time is 15 minutes. It’s just a matter of feeding the poles through the continuous pole sleeve and watching the tent come to life…er, or not 😛
What It Offers
Advanced Waterproofing – Believe it or not, but this tent has been built to keep the rain out extremely well. It has a “WeatherTec system”, meaning there are welded floors and inverted seams. Rain cannot make its way into the tent with this type of setup.
Large Windows – These provide a large amount of ventilation, reducing condensation buildup as much as possible and making sure everybody doesn’t overheat in the hot summer sun. If there’s a slight wind, you can open them up and feel a nice cold breeze while inside the tent!
2-Speed Fan – In case there is no wind coming into your tent, there is a “reversible” fan system, which is great at keeping you at the right temperature so you stay comfortable as possible. How does this happen? It can keep you cool if it’s too hot and keep you warm too if it’s too cold, simply by pushing out HOT air.
LED Lighting system – The built-in LED lighting (very bright) is great for illuminating the tent, giving an even glow throughout.
Vertical Walls – Because it’s a cabin-styled tent, the vertical walls make it feel like you are inside a house more than a tent. So if you enjoy glamping more than camping, you will fall in love with the unique style that it offers.
Mesh Roof – Another great feature that stands out to me is the mesh ceiling. You are able to take the rain fly off of the tent and have a full view of the clear night sky – a good idea when the weather allows it 🙂
Things That Stand Out
The 7 feet ceiling was a feature that stood out to me. If you’re a tall person and looking to purchase a tent that you can actually stand up in, without having to lean over all the time, then this one will soon become your best friend.
So much interior space! Even though this tent is designed for 9 people, that doesn’t mean you HAVE to go camping with exactly 9 people. A good idea will be to camp with 4-6 people and have the extra room for more comfort and convenience.
Who Should Buy This Tent?
Anyone that’s on the fence for a large family tent, you’ll probably find that the Coleman Prairie Breeze 9-Person Cabin Tent will work for you.
It makes a great choice for backyard family events and family outings at public campsites.
However, my favorite is a weekend camping trip with the buddies.
But it performs extremely well for any of these.
Where To Get It From?
Amazon.com is my preferred choice for outdoor camping supplies, simply because they offer the utmost BEST prices, staying affordable for casual/seasonal campers.
The 30-day return policy that it offers means you can get your money back if the tent wasn’t up to your expectations, while all repairs will be done free of charge as well (just in case you experience any).

Is It Even Worth The Money?
Even though it’s not the best at holding up in strong winds, all the other features make it a no-brainer!
The lighting and fan system give this tent the upper hand against the alternatives in the same price bracket.
I am not going to sit here and praise the hell out of this tent, I am simply giving you my honest opinion, and I can’t stress at how well it performs in the summer time.
If you absolutely know that the weather is going to be clear and calm, then you will not go wrong with the Coleman Prairie Breeze 9-Person Cabin Tent.
So to answer this question; yes, it is definitely worth the price that it has been given.
The online reviews have mostly been positive, with only a few out of the hundreds of purchases having complaints, and it shows no signs of going lower either.
This tent has great feedback, very minor issues and amazing pros/benefits.
Definitely worth it!
Other Tents You May Like
The Coleman 8 Instant Tent is a much better option if you want a tent that is easier to pitch. This one can be set up within minutes (literally), while it stands up in strong winds without an issue. It’s also in the same price range as the Coleman Prairie Breeze. However, it doesn’t offer stargazing opportunities or the lighting/fan system either.
A much cheaper alternative is the Coleman WeatherMaster 10 Tent. This one isn’t as waterproof as the other tents mentioned, nor is it going to last as long either, but it definitely performs good enough for the price.
Final Words
Whether you’re looking for a tent to use in the backyard for a family event or a decent enough one to go on a weekend camping trip in the summertime, the Coleman Prairie Breeze will do the trick just fine.
The many features and benefits that it offers outweigh the small cons that I could find for it, making it a great buy and well worth the price!
