j5 tactical flashlight

Do you need a lightweight, high powered flashlight to use for your camping trips, hikes, hunting or military practices? That’s good, because you just came to one of the best J5 Tactical Flashlight reviews out on the internet.

What Is the J5 Tactical Flashlight?

The last flashlight you will ever need. Essentially, this high powered flashlight only takes 1 single AA battery to power it up, which lasts for hours or even days if you use it in moderation. It can go the length of 2 football fields. However, if you don’t want to beam that far ahead, simply zoom out and get a wider angle sweeping EVERYTHING in your path!

I was so impressed with this flashlight, I also impressed all my friends and family, they even wanted one, lol.

Build Material – The flashlight is built from aluminium alloy, a strong material that makes the flashlight a lot more durable. Covered with a black coat of non-rust, and enhanced bulb to prevent it from breaking easily.

Bulb –  J5 LED

Length – 4 inches, making it an ideal size to fit in your hand, and easier to fit in your pockets.

Water Resistance – While not completely waterproof, it still can be used in an area with splashing water, such as rain. It has a IPX4 rating.

Impact Resistance – With an impact resistance of 2.1 meters, even on hard surfaces, the flashlight won’t crack or break.

Run Time – In most cases (and moderate use), this can last for weeks, however if you use the high beam mode more frequently, the battery will only last a few hours.

Weight – While only weighing 2.4 ounces, makes a great lightweight flash light to use on bush walks, hunting, or even around the campsite while you’re trying to find yourself a midnight snack 🙂

Torch Modes:

  • High – Put your torch on high beam and go the length of 2 football fields.
  • Low – Turn the torch down and get a good view of everything in your site, especially those bears!
  • Strobe – You want to confuse your attacker, place the torch in strobe mode and get the upper hand over your opponent, or to run, if you’re not the fighter type.

Battery – Only one single AA battery to power up this bad boy.

Switch – The tactical flashlight has a tail switch to turn it on or off.

Usage – This flashlight is ideal in ANY situation, such as: hiking, camping, hunting, shooting and more.

How It Worked For Me

Well I’m an avid camper, so I use this flashlight on my camping trips, bush walks/hikes and it’s especially good to use on the way back to your campsite after dark.

Here’s what I think about the J5 Tactical Flashlight,

Pros

  • Lightweight.
  • Very bright LED light.
  • Small, easy to operate.
  • Easy to carry
  • Only takes 1 single AA battery
  • 3 modes to use
  • Highly durable
  • Good to have in your emergency supply kit

Cons

  • Batteries not supplied.
  • Because of the cheap price and the amount of flashlights that have been made, there’s a small chance you could get a faulty one. However, just send them an email and you will have a new one in a couple of days.
  • High-powered mode will drown the battery within 1-2 hours

Why I Recommend It

Because I was sick and tired of carrying bulky torches on my hiking trips.

We had enough gear to carry as it was, we didn’t need any more weight holding us down, and the J5 Tactical Light jumped out at me when I was searching online for some decent torches to use.

And because I know how frustrating it is to find a decent flashlight for an affordable price.

Is It Right For You?

It all depends on what you plan on using it for, however I would say it’s good for pretty much ANY outdoor activity.

  • Hiking
  • Bush Walks
  • Camping
  • Hunting
  • Shooting
  • Military Practises
  • Heck, even spotlight LOL
  • Even better, spotlight while camping

As you can see, the flashlight is great to use in all outdoor activities, so I would say yes, it is right for you.tactical knife uses

My friend even got one to illuminate his PC housing while he’s working on his computers (He’s an IT guy).

Conclusion

Although it’s not the greatest tactical flashlight in the unwritten book of flashlights, but for the price you pay, and the quality of this product it’s virtually a steal.

Let me recap on how this will benefit you:

-You can use this flashlight while searching around for a midnight snack on your camping trip, just make sure you use the strobe feature to scare the bears away, haha.

-Take all your buddies hiking and prove to them how great this light is.

-You and your best mate can go hunting and catch your dinner, why not cook it up while you’re there too?

For the reasons above, and for the amount of huge uses this lightweight and compact flashlight has to offer, i recommend this product 100%.

Let me see it on Amazon.com before they sell out!

This actually looks very fancy. I love it! Excellent review. I have a quick question though:

You stated in this review that the torch in high mode can go the length of 2 football fields, is that for real or maybe a slight exaggeration?

Hello Medu, I’m not exaggerating one bit. Taking into consideration that it’s a clear night with no mist/fog this will sweep the area with ease. Thanks for the comment bud.

That is definitely a need to have tool for not only camping, but anything really. I know what you mean by bulky items, especially if you want to hike to your camping spot. This could free up space in my utility drawer as well. Thank You. What is the email address in case I do get a faulty one?

Hey, I really like how lightweight and small this J5 Tactical Flashlight is and yet it is so powerful for its size. It will be something ideal for me to take out and also to use at home. I’m more of an “unconventional” user. Sometimes, I’ll use a flashlight to check on my kids’ teeth or to use in the cinema when it’s dark and I have to look for something in my bag. Haha!

    Thanks for the thorough review.

Haha, great ideas you have mentioned. That’s the beauty of this flashlight – it doesn’t matter WHAT you need it for, flashlights can be used anywhere and for anything. Definitely a must-have light for anyone to use, especially for paranoid people trying to get to their car in a dark parking lot, lol.

I really like this flashlight because it is small and easy to carry around and as a bonus, it only takes one double a battery. And the batteries are small enough you can easily keep some extra in case if you need them later. I think this would also make a nice gift for someone who loves camping.

You’re absolutely right Wendy, these are great reasons why I only use the J5 tactical flashlight. And it sure does make a great gift for someone, especially for outdoors men 😀

      Thanks for the comment,
      Brandon
