I’m going to discover what the features are for this sleeping bag and how good the quality is, then finding out if it is really worth the price. So on and so forth.

Product Description

This is the Ignite Down sleeping bag.

It has been claimed to perform well in all 3 seasons by the manufacturers.

Down bags offer amazing benefits, while this one contains a bunch of them.

It is  lightweight, has great compressibility and very warm at the same time.

So they also claim that you can not beat the performance that this bag offers when trying to combat condensation, sweat and humidity.

They put an emphasis on key features and warmth.

A stuff sack is also included in the purchase.

Key Features

600 DriDown Insulation: This is the fill material. It has been described as extremely warm

Box Baffle and Ground-Level Side Seams: Stops cold spots as much as possible and maximizes warmth

Draft Collar and Zipper Draft Tube: Ensures no cold air will sneak inside the bag, helping you stay warm the entire night. These zippers contain an anti-snag design

Hood: This is suppose to be warm and comfortable, allowing you to get an even better nights sleep

One-Handed Draw Cord: Self explanatory. You can adjust the cord with just one hand to give you better convenience

Loops: Liner loops and hanging loops. There are also security loops to keep you attached to your sleeping pad so you don’t slide off while you sleep (straps sold separately)

Why Is This Specific Sleeping Bag Unique?

The Kelty Ignite DriDown Sleeping Bag has a very unique finish, one that you don’t find on many other sleeping bags.

It is treated with a molecular level polymer. This creates a hydrophobic finish.

In Other Words?

It will stay drier for longer. And in the event it gets wet, the unique finish helps it dry faster. It will also loft a lot better.

As a result of all of this, you’re able to stay warm when you’re inside this sleeping bag while you are in any environment (this can be anywhere from the desert all the way to the Pacific Northwest).

Who Should Buy This Sleeping Bag?

Due to the weight of this sleeping bag being in a good range for backpacking (2.65 pounds), it is clearly a good choice for those of you who want to do a backpacking trip instead of the traditional tent camping.

However, that’s not to say that it doesn’t perform really well for car campers, because it actually does.

And that’s because it’s capable of keeping you warm in cold conditions – down to 20 degrees Fahrenheit. It has also been proven to last a long time.

If you’re 6 feet or shorter and you like this bag so far, then it is definitely for you. As I’ve discovered that it’s one of the best warmth-to-weight ratio sleeping bags out on the market.

Both male and females have been known to use this sleeping bag too (and fit it perfectly).

Purchase Details

You can purchase this bag from the popular online store: Amazon.com.

The purchase includes a 30 day return policy. So if you get one and realize it wasn’t up to your expectations, simply send it back and get a full refund, no questions asked.

Furthermore, if you notice any defects on the product within that 30 day time frame (although a very slight chance), you can also send it back and get a brand new one in return.

The Good & The Bad

The Good

  • High quality and warm (600 fill) insulation material
  • Offers an amazing warmth-to-weight ratio
  • Treated with a hydrophobic finish, making it water resistant
  • Packs down relatively small and light

The Bad

  • Still slightly heavier than other sleeping bags in the same class
  • A little bulkier than its competitors too

The Verdict

If you are looking for ULTIMATE lightness for a backpacking trip, then you might want to look for something else.

On the other hand – if you want a sleeping bag with a good warmth-to-weight ratio, then look no further, because this the best you can find in its class – as mentioned by a lot of buyers.

A lot of users have found that the Kelty Ignite DOES work exactly as the manufacturers have claimed it to, while I have no doubts that it does either.

The average ratings don’t lie (unlike a lot of manufacturers).

However, let’s move on and wrap this review up.

If you’re looking for an affordable sleeping bag, one that’s high quality and gives you great performance, along with many features, then this sleeping bag is for you.

My opinion?

Great product, awesome quality, highly recommended!
