In this Ozark Trail 8 Person Tent review, I will be researching this specific product and writing down my findings in this article.
Oftentimes I see too many people purchasing a bad product, ultimately making them have a bad camping experience.
This should not be the case. I am here to review tents and provide my honest opinion on it. If that’s also what you would like to find out, then you are in the right place 🙂
Product Overview
This tent has been designed to be pitched in 60 seconds flat. It is an 8 person tent, and requires no assembly since everything is attached to the tent already.
The manufacturers are claiming that all you need to do is unfold and extend as soon as it arrives.
It is also a 2-room cabin tent, and has 360 degree views all around it, due to the windows on all sides. So you can get a completely good view of the outside world as you lay down in your cozy bed!
The height of this tent is 6 feet 2 inches, meaning anyone under that height can stand up without any problems.
And yes, this tent does fit 2 queen-sized air mattresses – comfortably.
There is a free oversized gear organizers included inside the tent, this is especially a good idea if you’re wanting to fit 8 people inside with everyone’s equipment.
What Makes This Tent Unique?
I couldn’t really find anything unique to this tent, other than that it contains a ground vent to improve the ventilation flow.
Although, I would say it’s pretty roomy inside. While the steel frame was something that caught my eye as well, this should definitely be able to hold up in strong winds.

Pros and Cons
Pros
- I really like how it can be set up in 60 seconds flat. There’s no difficult instructions
- The large windows all around the tent make it great for everyone to see the beauty of the outside world, without actually been outside 🙂
- The windows, along with the ground vent, help improve the ventilation – which I find to do that very well
- It contains a strong steel frame design too, along with some free bonus gear organizers
- I like how it fits 2 queen air mattresses comfortably, because with a lot of other 8 person tents, sometimes you have to squash them in
Cons
- Poor customer service
- Many complaints about the tent leaking
- A lot of feedback claiming that it won’t stand up in strong winds
Do I Recommend This Tent?
I simply can not recommend this tent.
It doesn’t have many reviews, but with the reviews it HAS been given, they aren’t giving it much justice.
It has racked up a total of 3.8 stars. For a tent of this price, you shouldn’t have to deal with seam sealing it or even doing extra DIY work just to try and help it stand strong in winds.
There are many (better) alternative tents you can choose from for this price, with a lot of them being created near-flawlessly.
This tent is a waste off money and definitely not worth it.Â
Alternative/Similar Products
You’re much better off going with the Coleman 8 Person Tent, which is created with much higher quality and actually going to keep the rain out AND stand strong in rough wind conditions. It’s a little pricier but at least you get your moneys worth!
Well, if you would something much cheaper, yet still going to get the job done – it is a lot better than the Ozark Trail, while still being an 8 person tent – but will take a little more time to pitch since it isn’t classed as instant-setup, then read my full review on the Coleman Red Canyon Tent.
My Final Opinion
There’s just too many negative reviews for a tent of of this price.
When you pay over $150 for a tent, it should automatically be up to scratch and not going to let you down when you’re counting on it the most.
It isn’t the best quality, the customer service is trash, there’s many problems with the rain leaking inside, and to top it all off – it is very poorly made – meaning it’s not even going to stand strong in rough weather.
There are many reasons why I don’t recommend this product throughout this article – however, if you want to give this tent the benefit of the doubt, then click here to purchase it on Amazon.com.
Otherwise, I would rather you check out my review on the Coleman 8 Person Tent, which is a much better choice and capable of keeping the rain out while standing strong in harsh winds.
