In this CORE 6 Person Dome Tent review you will discover all the features, the TRUE quality, the good and the bad and of course how it really performs in the field.
My name is Brandon and I’m an outdoor enthusiast. I review tents and write my findings on my blog.
I have reviewed many tents in the past, including the CORE brand so this one is not new to me.
Lets see what we are dealing with and what you’d expect to get out if this tent if you get one yourself.
So the CORE 6 Person Dome Tent houses 6 people and includes the LATEST technology created by CORE Equipment.
Yes, that does mean it has the H20 Block Technology, water-repellent fabrics and active bead technology.
In addition – to make this tent waterproof even more – all seams are sealed and the doors and windows are rain-resistant.
All of this results in an outstanding waterproof tent that keeps out torrential rain without a problem.
The rain fly can be removed to expose the mesh material and attain panoramic views of the surrounding areas and stargazing views.
This tent also includes the advanced venting system, which actually brings in cold air from the ground and releases HOT air through the mesh material, resulting in a comfortable temperature all season long.
Other features include: zippered privacy panels, lantern hook, electrical port, interior pockets and gear loft (included in the purchase).
What Makes This Tent Unique?
What I tend to like about the CORE 6 Person Dome Tent is the interior size as it can actually fit 2 queen-sized air mattresses.
The included gear loft and lantern hook also makes it stand out from the crowd.
Basically, it has a high number of features other tents in the same price bracket doesn’t offer.
It is definitely unique; in my opinion, of course.

The price varies between $90 and $130 and can be purchased from Amazon.com.

Pros and Cons
- Reasonably quick to setup for a 6-person tent. It can be done in 5-10 minutes with one person after some practice
- Includes features other tents don’t offer (the venting system and advanced waterproofing technology)
- The mesh material allows you to stargaze on clearer nights
- Does a surprisingly wonderful job in the wind
- Very room inside – it can easily fit 2 queen-sized air mattresses
- The door zippers get stuck on the rain protection material (a common fault on all CORE tents). Always be careful using the zipper or it WILL break or get stuck
- Reports of needing better stakes for battling stronger winds
Do I Recommend This Tent?
This tent has built a strong reputation throughout the years, and after reading the many reviews I have come to my own conclusion.
The CORE 6 Person Dome Tent stands up to the claims given by the manufacturers and does a great job in the field.
It has a tall center height, plenty of space, lots of storage options and doesn’t skimp on features.
The only major issues are the bad zipper and weak stakes, however, you can eliminate that con completely by purchasing stronger stakes. You’re only left with the zipper problem.
And that’s more of a nuisance than anything else.
Yes, I do recommend the CORE 6 Person Dome Tent as it smashes the competition out of the water while staying in an affordable price range!
If you want a 6-person tent that’s ready to go straight-out-of-the-box since it has no trouble with the zipper or stakes, the Coleman Steel Creek is one of my favorite 6-person tents. It has a screened porch, window awnings, reflective guylines and many other features the CORE 6 doesn’t offer. Although be prepared to pay a few extra dollars.
Another great alternative is the Coleman Sundome 6, which is still in the same price bracket and does an amazing job in the rain and wind, however, it’s not as high quality and may not last as long. At least you’ll have no issues with the zippers or stakes if that’s more important to you.
My Final Opinion
I absolutely love the CORE 6 Person Dome Tent.
It’s in an extremely affordable price range for a 6-person tent and does a great job in rain and wind.
Just purchase better stakes and you can’t go wrong!
Stargaze during the summer or keep the rain fly on and ensure a dry and comfortable nights sleep.
I had no idea the CORE 6 would exceed my expectations, but it has and I’m happy to say that.
What a marvelous tent for a great price.
