There is really hundreds of activities to play in the great outdoors with your friends and family, possibly even thousands of adult camping games if you put your imagination to work.
However, there are still some basic ones that I will outline in this article, they are quick and easy to learn – so you won’t need much practice with them. They are straight forward and to the point – much like this post 🙂
Enjoy!
1. Two Truths And A Lie
This one is a good ice breaker for people that don’t know each other too well – but also very fun to play with your friends, especially when you think you know your friend very well, only to find out you don’t after all.
Everyone thinks of two facts about themselves, along with one lie. When it’s your turn you will have to tell everyone your three ‘facts’, the fun part is when everyone tries to figure out which is the lie.
2. Would You Rather
An awesome game when you put some thought into the question. You go around in circles, whoever is on the receiving end will be the one that’s being asked the question.
Really straight forward game, and possibly the funniest.
Some good examples include:
- Would you rather give up TV or coffee for the rest of your life?
- Would you rather jump in a pool full of lemon juice with paper cuts on your body, or stick a needle inside the end of your toe and kick a wall as hard as you can?
- Would you rather be naked in ice cold water, or wear a snow coat in extreme heat?
- Would you rather have the ability to go invisible or teleport
- Would you rather be extremely hairy and not be able to shave at all, or be completely hairless all over?
As you can see, this can be a great game, it’s best played when you put a little more thought into the question though.
3. Mr B’s Shave
Give everyone a blown up balloon, get everyone to draw a face on it.
Then apply shaving cream onto Mr B’s face. Everyone will have to ‘shave’ Mr B with a plastic knife, the first one to shave him without popping the balloon is the winner.
4. Balloon Lift
Divide the group up into teams of two and place a balloon on the ground in front of each team.
The aim of the game is to have everyone try to pop a balloon between two people, however there is no hands involved. Whichever team pops the balloon first is the winner, while anyone that uses their hands is eliminated.
5. Who Am I?
An old game, but also an awesome one! Whoever is in the hot seat will have to decide on someone famous to be.
Everyone has to ask the person in the hot seat random questions, and can ONLY be answered with yes or no.
The easy part? You can ask as many questions as you like. The hard part? You get one guess as to who they are. If your guess is wrong then you are automatically eliminated. If you get it right, then you win.
6. Make Me Laugh
Although it doesn’t sound like the best game, it can still get hilariously funny and will be a good choice if you want to cheer someone up.
Divide the group up between two teams for more all-round fun happening. Nominate someone who has to keep a straight face.
Everyone in that team has to do everything they can to make that person laugh. This is bound to make everyone feel better 🙂
7. Famous People
This is another great game and gets your brain working. You sit in a circle, and someone has to think of a famous persons name – first and last.
The first letter of the last name is what the next person has to start with. So for example, Michael Jackson, Jeremy Paxman, etc. When someone can’t think if a name for that letter, they lose.
8. The Song Game
This game will be good for the music geeks out there 🙂 One person chooses a word, or two – to make it more fun.
Whatever the word is, each person has to come up with a song name, or even a band name that contains that specific word.
It is really straightforward and a great game if you enjoy your music – like me!
Conclusion
The great outdoors is amazing.
And as you will soon find out, you don’t need your fancy smartphone or tablet to make it more fun. All you need is a couple of friends and you’re good to go.
That’s the beauty of nature.
Having general fun with people, sitting around the campfire and talking about life, the awesome sounds around you, the birds chirping in the night, or even those bright eyes steering at you in the distance 😮
Don’t let that put you off though, most of the time it’s just a possum or squirrel. Anyway, these outdoor games will make your experience so much better, especially if you need something to calm your nerves.
