So many tents in this day and age and not enough honest manufacturers, so what IS classed as high quality?
Why do manufacturers exaggerate the quality of their tents to the max?
Well my good friends, this is my Winterial 3 Person Tent review. It’s where I find the TRUE quality of this tent, then provide my final opinion.
Well Worth The Money!

Winterial 3 Person Tent Overview
What you’re looking at here is the Winterial 3 Person Tent. It sits at 4.4 pounds (packed), meaning it is light enough to go backpacking with.
Setting this tent up can be done in a breeze. It’s just a matter of connecting 2 aluminium tipped poles through the fabric and erecting the tent.
It comes with a removable rain fly. This protects you from the rain and wind simply by being highly weather resistant.
It also contains 2 large doors, which makes getting in and out of the tent a lot easier, ESPECIALLY when 2+ people are camping in it.
There are also door screens, which are designed to keep the air flow moving through the tent while providing shelter from mosquitoes.
But how do you stow this tent away? It comes in a fully compact carry bag, making it ideal for camping and backpacking.
Key Features
Advanced Doors – Not ONLY do the doors have screened material to keep you safe from mosquitoes and other bugs that can make you ill, but there is actually 2 of them! These double-layered zipper doors are not easy to come across either
Vestibule – Essentially, a vestibule area is extra space under the rain fly. It provides a [waterproof] area for you and your camping buddies to store equipment out of the tent but still keeping it safe from the elements
Rain Fly Vented Roof – For maximum ventilation – even in the rain – this tent has vents built onto the rain fly. Some tents that don’t have this feature usually have problems with condensation buildup
Lightweight – This tent is only 4.4 pounds. It is incredibly difficult to find a 3-person tent (in this price range) that is light enough to go backpacking with
Compact – The shear size of this tent when packed into this tiny bag is remarkable! This means you can stow it inside your backpack and still have a lot of room for other items
Awning – If you have 2 trekking poles, you can actually lift the rain fly up and have an awning. An awning is a piece of shelter, and is a good idea for when it’s raining outside but you still want to enjoy the outdoors
Interesting Enough…
The weight was one of the features that caught my eye the most.
I am completely astounded that a tent of this price is this lightweight while providing many rare features at the same time.
Furthermore, the screened doors is another useful feature that you don’t see on many other smaller tents.
What a great job, Winterial 🙂
What I Don’t Like
You don’t have many options for stargazing.
With the rain fly off, your view of the night sky is very limited compared to 3-person tents with all-mesh walls/roof.
But each to their own, and I doubt many people will find this to be that bad anyway.
Who Would Benefit From This Tent The Most
Anyone who is looking for a tent for beach camping, public site camping, mountain getaways, and possibly everything in between! (according to the official product description).
Basically, what they are trying to say is that it performs very well for any outdoor adventure, and I have no doubts that they’re telling the truth.
So if you want something basic, affordable, and very rain/wind proof at the same time, then you will benefit from this tent the most.
Who The Winterial 3 Person Tent Is NOT For
It is designed for 3 people only.
You will not enjoy your time in this tent if you want to camp with exactly 3 people or more.
If you don’t mind being close to your camping buddy, then move on to a 4-person tent, as you will experience a tight fit otherwise.

But Is This Tent Really Worth It?
In all honesty, it most definitely is.
Many users have fallen in love with it since it is super easy to set up, has a lot of rare features, and doesn’t leak in the rain.
Even though the design is very minimalistic, that’s exactly how they wanted it to be, to ensure it stays in a lightweight range for backpacking.
And I would have to say that they have done a mighty fine job at it too.
It does have some flaws, but what tent doesn’t?
The cons that I could find weren’t really much of an issue anyway, unless you’re a tall person, then you should see these tents instead.
But other than that, and just like the solo version of this tent, I am surprised at how well it performs.
The Winterial 3 Person Tent is definitely worth it!
Other 3-Person Tents
If you want a 3-person tent that offers much more storage space, does NOT require a tarp – and even though it’s slightly more expensive, it will last a little longer while providing some of the best protection from the elements, then check out my review on the Alps Mountaineering Extreme 3 Tent.
Or if you want a tent that’s much cheaper than the Winterial 3 Person but doesn’t contain as many features, the Mountain Trails Twin Peaks Tent is still a great choice for casual campers on a budget.
What I Really Think About The Winterial 3 Tent
It is probably one of the best 3-person tents (in this price range) that I have reviewed so far, and that’s no exaggeration either!
Why do I recommend it so much?
It performs exactly how it’s been described to on the product page, it’s completely affordable, and many users have fallen in love with it as a result.
But not only that, there are only a few negative reviews that I could find, and even then the pros and positive reviews outweigh the negatives by a LONG shot!

I am very much interested in purchasing this tent. I believe it is important to also have a base footprint. I realize it is sold separately, which is fine except that the 3 person tent messers 84” x 64” and the footprint messers 47” x 87”. Why sell a 3 person tent and only offer a 2 person footprint?
